Bring your own key

Get more from the keys you have

Use the rates and credit you already have with OpenAI, Anthropic and other providers. Add limits, fallbacks and usage tracking. Hopscotch charges nothing on top.

What your keys get

  1. Your existing rates

Requests run on your key and use the rates and credit you already have.

  2. One key, split many ways

Turn one provider key into several Hopscotch keys, each with its own budget and expiry.

  3. Fallbacks included

Put backup models behind any model you run on your key.

  4. Tracked in one place

Requests on your key show in Usage and Activity with everything else.

How it works

  1. Add your provider key

An owner or admin adds it in the dashboard. Hopscotch tests it before saving it.

  2. Create Hopscotch keys

Give each agent or teammate its own key with its own limits.

  3. Call the provider's models

Requests run on your provider key and show up in Usage.

Where it fits

  1. Unused credit with a provider

Spend what you've already paid for before you buy Hopscotch credit.

  2. A negotiated rate with one provider

Keep that rate. Use Hopscotch credit for every other model.

  3. One provider key shared across a team

Each agent or teammate gets a Hopscotch key with its own limit. A leaked key can't drain the whole allocation.

Bring your own key questions

Which providers take my key?

The dashboard lists only providers that accept your key.

Does Hopscotch charge for requests on my key?

No. The provider bills you directly, and Hopscotch adds nothing on top.

Do I need to buy credit first?

No. Requests on your key don't draw on your Hopscotch balance.

What happens if my key stops working?

Requests to that provider fail. If the model is in a routing profile, the next model in the list answers.

Can my key add models Hopscotch doesn't carry?

No. Your key changes who pays for models Hopscotch already serves.
